First, IdiotNuts sends me an e-mail that he's going to be out of town memorial day weekend. Responsible thing to do, right? RIGHT???? It's always good to know when the other parent won't be around in case there is an emergency, etc.
I keep forgetting that I'm not dealing with a sane person.
So. since he was being forthcoming and I thought he MIGHT like to make some plans with the girls for the summer...

know we are going to be out of town. I tried to make sure they were every
other week, but I didn't do so well for the end of June because of the Santa Fe
trip. I also wanna get down to the beach for at least a Saturday and I want to go to Houston to meet Chris's family one weekend. Plus, I want
to go see Matt.Then I bet I'm all out of summertime! Please let me know as
soon as you know when you're gonna take them to the beach so I can schedule
around you. Pretty much all but the Santa Fe trip and the Memorial Day
trip, they can stay with you instead of going with me if you can take them for a
longer period of time.Also, any chunk of time that you want them, let me
know. Only thing that I'll not want to work around is taking them to see

Sounds fine. I don't make plans that far in advance. We are
trying to go to New York, and then to Santa Fe the end of August for the
opera. Our travel plans will get busier in the Fall and Winter.
We
want to go to Colombia but every day it's looking less likely because of
the
military buildup on the border with Venezuela and all the
kidnapping.The relative from Caracas is saying it may not be safe any more to go to the
family's place in Maracaibo; so we're looking at some other ways to go
cheaply
to a nice beach.
Now, I'm confused, so I reply to him:
You're gonna take the girls out of the country? Are you going to take
care of their passports?I'm not too comfy having the girls go out of the country where there is military buildup and kidnapping.
School starts on 8/25 so hopefully you'll be able to take them somewhere before then.
Now, I guess he's confused because he says:
No, the girls will be in school when we do any traveling like that.
So, now I'm really, really, really confused because I thought we were talking about summer scheduled for the girls:

love to take them to the beach in Mexico, I just can't afford it!
Then, he pushes my buttons. This man is not sane. He's an idiot. IdiotNuts in fact. I just can't believe what he's able to convince himself that he's right in the head:

If I am invited to travel with Marta Elena's family, I will go; but I won't
invite my children along. Marta Elena enjoys the girls immensely but, like
ourselves, most of the siblings are getting older and past the age of doing
things with young children. Kids are all grown.
So... Now i'm pissed and I say:
but YOUR children are not.
And his justification for it all?????? Everyone sit down. I'm tellin' ya, he's an idiot:
Right. Regardless, I cannot ignore my age or try to continue doing
things a younger father might do. I wouldn't expect you to act ten years
older, either.

A 13 year old boy could probably naturally act like a better parent. I just cannot believe the nerve of that man!

I wouldn't even go there with him. I mean, he's obviously so self-absorbed that he doesn't even realize that THE KIDS didn't ask to be born to an old dude. And ya know what? You are only as old as you let yourself be.
He's being a jerk and he's being self-centered and an ass.
I need to take a lesson myself, but don't let another's person inability to act like a human being negatively affect you.
I know, the girls, their dad, etc. But you cannot force this person to be normal. He's not.
All you can do is act rational yourself. I would just attempt to roll my eyes and ignore him. Try. Then go punch a pillow and pretend it was his scrotum.

I say we grab your MIL, Crystal and Denise's FIL's, and IdiotNuts and put them in a room to have small group talk.
Give them things like spitwads and slingshots to play with.
